Meet the Owner

Shad Hall, President and Owner, learned the trade early on from his Dad while working with him after school, weekends and summers. A few years after returning from Active Duty in the U.S. Army, Shad started his business in 1997. He began leasing a small shop in Portland, while also serving in the Army Reserve and working part-time at UPS.  In 1999, the business had grown enough that Shad began hiring employees and moved the shop to Windham.  By 2003, Shad had purchased his own building in order to have the space to keep up with his growing business.  After two expansions at our current location on Collins Pond Road in Windham, Shads has come a long way from a one man shop!

Shad spends most of his spare time volunteering in the community.  So much so, that in 2014 he was recognized by the Town Council as Gray’s Volunteer of the Year! His wife, Lorri received the same honor in 2019!  Shad has been the President of football in his community for many years and has helped coached numerous Gray-New Gloucester baseball, basketball and football teams. Most recently he helped coach the HS Alpine Ski team!  Years ago, he saw there was a need for bus drivers in the GNG school system for sports and club activity transportation, so he studied hard and got his CDL with School Bus Endorsement in 2015.  In addition to coaching and driving for the community, Shad has served over 6 years as a School Board Member.  Shad had decided to run for MSAD 15’s School Board because he wanted to help children receive a better education, one that would help them gain the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the job market and lead successful, healthy and productive lives.  Shad has always believed that co-curricular programs are an important aspect of preparing our children for their futures and help them learn valuable lessons to becoming better citizens.

Shad is also one of the original founders and board members of the Patriot 5k Lap Around the Lake, which has raised over $100,000 since its inception back in 2010.  The money raised is used by the Patriot Parents Organization, who supports school enrichment programs for Gray-New Gloucester Schools.

This March was Shad’s 4th year and his son Jake’s 2nd year participating in the WinterKids Downhill 24 hour Ski Fundraiser. As a team they raised over $80,000 and the event itself raised over $550,000 total!  Shad believes strongly in the WinterKids Mission of helping children develop healthy lifelong habits through education and fun outdoor winter activity!!

Shad also enjoys spending free time with his family and friends on the water in the summer and on the slopes in the winter!
